Delivering at Pace

Planning and organising your own work and other people's to hit a high standard, on time, without losing sight of risk.

What this behaviour means

Delivering at Pace is about proving you can plan realistically, keep momentum under pressure, and still produce good work — not just that you're busy or that you finished something quickly. Assessors are checking for evidence of planning, prioritisation, and taking ownership of outcomes, not just activity.

What assessors are looking for

Common mistakes

How to structure your STAR example

Situation

Set the deadline and the constraint plainly — what had to be done, by when, and what made that hard (competing priorities, limited resource, a moving deadline).

Task

State what you specifically were responsible for delivering, not what the team or department delivered.

Action

Describe how you planned and re-planned — what you prioritised, what you deprioritised, and how you kept quality up under time pressure.

Result

Give a concrete outcome with a number or a clear before/after if you can: delivered on time, reduced a backlog, hit a deadline that looked at risk.
